I recently received a call from our Mazza location asking if I could create some marketing material for a new service they were offering air brush tanning by Bronze - Senza sole. Oh yuck, I thought, we’re going to turn our guests orange, lovely! So, I called Georgette the very dynamic owner of Bronze, and with more passion than a Redskin’s fan, she explained why her product is so very different from a spray booth tan. Her passion swayed me to at least try a service. WOW! Am I glad I did. This tan looks so real even my mother asked me if I’d been on vacation - no joke. Please read on to learn about this great product. I promise no orange.
This is not a fire hose treatment but a customized treatment that is created for your skin tone, pigmentation and body. This sunless system can last up to 10 days and covers skin imperfections such as stretch marks and without streaks. The main ingredient is dihydroxyacetone (DHA) a non-toxic plant derivative that acts with your skin to create a tan without the sun but looks and feels real.
What to know before your treatment: The treatment takes 15 minutes to apply and 10 minutes to dry. To maximize your tan the day of your appointment exfoliate your skin and do not apply moisturizer, which can act as a barrier. Wear dark loose-fitting clothes. You may keep undergarments on during your sessions, but it is not recommended to shower or wet skin for at least 8 hours.

The Women’s Entertainment (WE)Channel’s The Secret Lives of Women is a show that highlights women that lead completely different lives than what’s considered the norm. From Black Widows and Polygamists, to Phone Sex Operators and Munchausen Moms, this show covers it all. Our very own Loretta and Myken from our Manassas location were on set, providing hair and makeup services for the show. Be sure to catch this show on Tuesdays at 10/9c.
Pretty by PR will be providing complimentary mini-makeups at Fashion Feeds Children, a charity shopping event benefiting Feed the Children Foundation, hosted by the DC Fashionistas. The event takes place this Saturday, April 14th from 3-7pm at Ultrabar (formerly HOME Nightclub-911 F St. NW, DC. The DC Fashionistas will present their unique and gorgeous collections of apparel, accessories, jewelry, cosmetics and more. And of course, there will be food, drinks, music and plenty of opportunities to mingle. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, there will also be massages and mini-manicures. The models worked it in front of the camera in the VIP section of 1223 Nightclub and then moved it down to the 2nd level to put on a show for fellow party-goers. Every year PR at Partners hosts a Photographic Competition. All our stylists are invited to compete. Each competitor provides the models, creates the hair, makeup and styles the clothes and has the opportunity to work with the area’s hottest photographers to create amazing pictures. This years pictures have been taken and winging there way to top fashion judges in New York, London and DC. So, while we’re waiting to find out who the winners are, here are some behind the scene shots.
The winners will be announced at the PR Awards, May 6th at the Washington Plaza hotel. We look forward to putting the winning pictures up.

There’s nothing worse than having a makeup artist give you a beautiful new look, but when it’s time for you to recreate it, it turns in to a total disaster. Pretty Makeup Artists have been trained to not only give you that great look, but to teach YOU how to apply it at home and how to pick colors that flatter you.
