Thinking of a Bob? Great Bob ideas

Posted in Fashion News, Styling Tips on March 31st, 2008 by Natasha Laws

pratpartners_bobs_eileen2.jpgpratpartnes_bobs_lisa2.jpg

So, you’ve seen Katie’s bob, and of course you’ve seen the now famous POB, and now you’re thinking - hey wait I want a bob! Here are nine bobs created by our team all on local Washington area women. Ready for yours? Here’s some things to know about bobs.
If you don’t want to spend a lot of time styling your bob, let your stylist know, so he/she can create a lower maintenance shape that works with waves or the natural volume of your hair. Bobs come in many lengths, if you’re nervous to go short, opt for a longer length. Stylists can always take length off but they have yet to figure out how to add length. The bob you want may not be the best shape to suit your face shape, so even if you have a picture in hand the finished product may vary to flatter you. Lastly, don’t let your new bob start without a picture, the best way to get a bob you love is for you and your stylist to review pictures to ensure it’s the exact shape you expect.

Love one of the these nine bobs let us know! Leave us a comment, judging for our photographic competition wont be complete until April 30th, 2008 and we’d love to know what you think.

We’d like to thank Northern Virginia Magazine for recognizing us again in their “Best Hair Issue”. It’s always gratifying when the hard work of over 350 people is recognized! It’s a testement to our stylists love of our guest’s and their hair, and the difference we try to make in each guest’s life. It’s also a gigantic pat on the back for our in-house and ongoing educational progam, our eductors and their hard work.

We are so excited for our Miami session worker Sean Stredwick, his first layout in Elle Mexico looks fantastic!
Beach sexy hair (even if it was shot in a swamp). The spread not only features Sean’s hair styling work but his Jeep too! Sean flies back to DC twice a month to share his knowledge with our team and still runs a good few of our educational classes. View the whole lay out here. We also have some behind the scenes photo’s.

PR at Partners Spring Spread
Our local session worker James Cornwell (Mclean) Neat Sothy (shirlington) and Bonnie-Love Douglas (Pretty by PR, Marketing Director) teamed up with Washington Life to create a Spring Fling. These ethereal Spring Looks remind us of the beauty of spring, now if the warmer weather would only hurry up! Check out the whole spread here
Neat, James - we love the hair! If Bonnie keeps rocking out makeup like this we’ll be sure to lose her from the office pretty soon.

Posted in Latest Press on February 1st, 2008 by Natasha Laws

washingtonian-review-pratpartners.jpgOur spa team, and spa director Laura, have worked hard to get the word out about Sugaring. PR at Partners local session worker and stylist James Cornwell scores a cover, again. So, last time James graced the cover of Washington Life it was as a style maker, this times he proves why, with fantastic hair, make up and if that wasn’t enough clothes styling too. The article focusing on “The Young and the Guest List” (Is James on that too?) features: Dominique Daws, Brooke Daley, Pamela Brown and Will Thomas (of Fox Five). We’d also like to thank Loretta from our Manassas location for awesome hair. Check out the pages here. Yes, I broke down and created a gallery.

Opps, I need to add that these great photo’s were taken by Tim Coburn, who we are very excited to announce is one of our main photographers for our photographic awards this year.

The weather was on our side for our spring/summer Fashion Preview and the release of our Urbana Collection. Two hundred plus stylists, style gurus, makeup artists and press gathered at Signature Theater in Shirlington to watch the show. We should also send a big thank you to the Curious Grape in Shirlington for a great selection of wines.

There are many thank yous for this show, that included a presentation by our Pretty Makeup Artists Jacqui Davis and the excellent James Cornwell (our local Session worker for DC), demonstrations and insights from our session workers - Sean Stredwick and Linh Nguyen and our Color Education Team. Robert Hughs who provided humor and MC services and none of it could have taken place without Richard Riffe who created the whole show and Bonnie Love who did everything else.
And we also need to thank this guy - “REG the Ledge” AKA Reg Laws our Founder, CEO and Boss. Clearly, I might not have job tomorrow with this picture. sure-ill-get-fired.jpg
