PR at Partners local session worker and stylist James Cornwell scores a cover, again. So, last time James graced the cover of Washington Life it was as a style maker, this times he proves why, with fantastic hair, make up and if that wasn’t enough clothes styling too. The article focusing on “The Young and the Guest List” (Is James on that too?) features: Dominique Daws, Brooke Daley, Pamela Brown and Will Thomas (of Fox Five). We’d also like to thank Loretta from our Manassas location for awesome hair. Check out the pages here. Yes, I broke down and created a gallery.

Opps, I need to add that these great photo’s were taken by Tim Coburn, who we are very excited to announce is one of our main photographers for our photographic awards this year.

The weather was on our side for our spring/summer Fashion Preview and the release of our Urbana Collection. Two hundred plus stylists, style gurus, makeup artists and press gathered at Signature Theater in Shirlington to watch the show. We should also send a big thank you to the Curious Grape in Shirlington for a great selection of wines.

Robert Hughs who provided humor and MC services and none of it could have taken place without Richard Riffe who created the whole show and Bonnie Love who did everything else.
And we also need to thank this guy - “REG the Ledge” AKA Reg Laws our Founder, CEO and Boss. Clearly, I might not have job tomorrow with this picture. sure-ill-get-fired.jpg

So what is Fashion Fights Poverty? According to the Washington Post, it is “one of the largest fashion fundraisers in Washington, DC.” An organization who features national and international designers who employ ethical means and practices in their design and manufacturing processes to produce products that promote economic development and the betterment of a given community, FFP provides a forum for dialogue and awareness-building about how fashion, textiles, and design can alleviate poverty and empower communities.

They are hosting their 3rd-annual Ethical Fashion Show on October 26, 2007 at Carnegie Library (K Street, DC) from 5p-11p. PR at Partners and Pretty by PR Cosmetics have been asked to do all hair and makeup for the show! The catwalk will feature the world-famous beats of DJ Beverly Bond. Almost 50 models will showcase 9 designers, Aid to Artisans and clothing from generous fashion houses donated to their silent auction. Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Rickey Medlocke who will be modeling a collection by Nashville-based rock n’ roll designer Elizabeth Muir that was developed in Afghanistan with local artisans.
All guests will sip on vodka cocktails by Emperor’s Brand vodka and food by Dean & Delucca in lounges decorated with West Elm décor.
And most importantly, Edwarc Marc Chocolatier’s “The Chocolate Suite” will be located in the main showroom near the runway. Yum!!! The afterparty will be hosted at Lotus Lounge with a portion of ticket sales being donated to Aid to Artisans. This will be an event not to be missed.

Air Brush Tanning - How good can it be?

Posted in General on August 13th, 2007 by Natasha Laws

bronze-for-prscene.jpg

I recently received a call from our Mazza location asking if I could create some marketing material for a new service they were offering air brush tanning by Bronze - Senza sole. Oh yuck, I thought, we’re going to turn our guests orange, lovely! So, I called Georgette the very dynamic owner of Bronze, and with more passion than a Redskin’s fan, she explained why her product is so very different from a spray booth tan. Her passion swayed me to at least try a service. WOW! Am I glad I did. This tan looks so real even my mother asked me if I’d been on vacation - no joke. Please read on to learn about this great product. I promise no orange.

This is not a fire hose treatment but a customized treatment that is created for your skin tone, pigmentation and body. This sunless system can last up to 10 days and covers skin imperfections such as stretch marks and without streaks. The main ingredient is dihydroxyacetone (DHA) a non-toxic plant derivative that acts with your skin to create a tan without the sun but looks and feels real.

What to know before your treatment: The treatment takes 15 minutes to apply and 10 minutes to dry. To maximize your tan the day of your appointment exfoliate your skin and do not apply moisturizer, which can act as a barrier. Wear dark loose-fitting clothes. You may keep undergarments on during your sessions, but it is not recommended to shower or wet skin for at least 8 hours.

Come in and experience this great tan for a special price of $75 (usually $95) now through the end of September. Or buy a great package of five tans for the price of four. Sadly, this treatment is currently only available at Mazza but we hope to offer it at more locations soon.

Call Mazza for an appointment 202.966.6771 and feel free to e-mail us with any questions info@pratpartners.com
